On Thursday October 24 the Awards Ceremony of the 2019 European Social Innovation Competition on Challenging Plastic Waste takes place at the Albert Hall in Brussels. Join us at this celebration of the ten finalists and find out which three projects win a €50,000 prize!

The Awards Ceremony marks the apex of this year’s European Social Innovation Competition++The CompetitionThe European Social Innovation Competition is a competition run by the European Commission, now in its seventh year. The competition is open to applicants from EU member states and countries associated to Horizon 2020, and delivered by a consortium of partners including Nesta, Ashoka, ENoLL, Scholz & Friends and Kennisland. , themed ‘Challenging Plastic Waste’. Finalists focused on innovative ways to fight and reduce plastic waste, and improve reuse and recycling of plastics on a systemic level.
Following the announcement of the winner of the Impact Prize to a semi-finalist of last year’s Competition RE:THINK LOCAL, the finalists of 2019++2019 FinalistsFind out who the ten finalists of the 2019 Competition are here. will pitch their solutions. They will show you their ambitions and strategies on reducing, recycling, reusing and upcycling plastic waste, changing consumer behaviour, optimising supply chains and introducing new materials for a circular economy.
Afterwards, there will be a debate on entrepreneurship in plastics and catalysing the circular economy on a systemic level. Finally, Director of the European Commissions’ DG Grow Timo Pesonen will award this year’s three winnersThe finalists will show you their ambitions and strategies on reducing, recycling, reusing and upcycling plastic waste, changing consumer behaviour, optimising supply chains and introducing new materials for a circular economy. with prizes of €50,000 each.
