Paul Keller spent the last year and a half helping Kimon and Nora to prepare for their new role: from mid-October 2018, they will jointly take over at Kennisland. Paul will then step down as chair.

The Board of Directors of the Finnish innovation fund Sitra visited the Netherlands in November to gain a deeper understanding of developments regarding social innovation, the future of Europe, circular economy, and public sector management in our country. Kennisland designed and convened a workshop as part of this excursion. During the workshop we discussed the trials of innovation in Finland and the Netherlands, as well as how we try to overcome them.

On November 25th we brought the key players in our social lab Liebes Kreta together to look back on a year of cross-border learning, designing and prototyping. Together we also talked about the future of Liebes Kreta. The group felt most energetic about Liebes Kreta as a house brand, making the factory immediately recognisable as the strategic and creative platform for social innovation. A big achievement.

Amsterdam proudly represented the title of Europe’s capital of innovation in 2016-2017. The city was awarded this title because of its so-called ‘Amsterdam Approach’: an innovation ecosystem which focusses on the collaboration between citizens, civil society, the private sector, knowledge institutions and the municipality to address social issues.
