Larissa is a communication advisor at Kennisland. She likes to get people moving. Ideally she connects different layers of society to enable people to look beyond their own ‘safe bubble’. With this in mind and together with Marcel Oosterwijk she takes care of the social media, the website and communication of Kennisland, as well as several projects. Also she is part of the team that organises our monthly Out of Office.
Larissa studied ++Persuasive CommunicationThis Master covers a variety of marketing and health communication theories, and learns how to apply these theories in practice. at the University of Amsterdam with a graduate research on the effects of cause-related marketing. During her study she founded a charity committee in association with Amsterdam Cares. The purpose of this committee was to increase social awareness of students in Amsterdam. To achieve this, Larissa organised several ++EventsSuch as a Christmas diner with homeless people or a talent show for disadvantaged children to provide encounters between students and people in need. After her graduation she also did an internship at Amsterdam Cares.
After this internship, Larissa went on a trip to Indonesia to find her roots and learn more about the country and culture where her grandmother was born and raised. After she got back in early 2014, she started working at Emma at Work, an organisation that supports youngsters with chronic physical disabilities to build an independent future. Here she spent three and a half years working on ++Marketing and communicationSuch as the repositioning of Emma at Work including a new corporate design and website. and ++Event managementHighlight was the working visit of queen Máxima early 2017., but also on sales strategies and loyalty marketing projects. The versatility of tasks characterises Larissa’s personality: an enthusiast who likes to roll up her sleeves and loves to work on a lot of different things.
Larissa grew up in Apeldoorn, but at the age of seventeen she decided to exchange the Veluwe for the Randstad. After living in Central Amsterdam, West and South, she is now happy to live in Amsterdam East. In her spare time she enjoys a coffee or a white beer on a (preferably sunny) terrace, sometimes with her French intercambio. Besides this she cooks one of her grandmother’s Indonesian recipes on a regular basis, she likes to go to Ameland for lazy weekends and she loves to explore the world by backpack and seek adventures.
