SIC final event “Beyond Imagination: A socially innovative Europe”

On 12 and 13 November the SIC final event will be held, bringing together people from all around Europe for an intense series of discussions, debates and networking. Kennisland’s Nora van der Linden will be there to discuss creating inclusive policymaking on different levels as an approach to achieve more systemic impact, based on our work in the Netherlands. Social Innovation Community final event “Beyond Imagination: A socially innovative Europe” will be held 12-13 November in Seville, Spain. We are looking forward to this great event where people from all around Europe will meet for an intense series of discussions, debates and networking. More than 200 leading cross-sector thinkers and practitioners will join the event++AgendaHere you’ll find the full program of the event.  in the CaixaForum, Seville. Together, we will celebrate the achievements of the past decade, imagine a new future for a socially innovative Europe, and develop practical ways to achieve this new future together.

We will work together to address key questions for the future, including:

  • What does it take to design the future we want?
  • How can we use more experimentation and participatory-learning approaches?
  • What is the role of research and technology in Social Innovation?
  • How can the #SIDeclaration influence future policy?
  • How do we need to work differently in order to tackle the challenges ahead?  

ODuring the final ‘provocation’ of the conference in the afternoon, Nora will be on stage to talk about why the European social innovation community still isn’t making the impact we think is needed?n the second day of the conference, Nora will be part of a breakout session on “Mainstreaming social innovation: growing the visibility, and impact of Europe’s Social Innovation Community”. She will discuss creating inclusive policymaking on different levels as an approach to achieve more systemic impact, based on Kennisland’s work in the Netherlands.

During the final ‘provocation’ of the conference in the afternoon, Nora will be on stage together with Gorka Espiau (McGill University, Spain), Eddy Adams (Metropak, Scotland) and Kuba Wygnański (Shipyard, Poland) to talk about why the European social innovation community still isn’t making the impact we think is needed? And what is getting in the way?

This event will mark the end of the three-year European Union’s Horizon 2020 project – SIC, by demonstrating a Europe where social innovation is growing as a mindset, adopted as policy and empowered as practice.
