30 semi-finalists who Reimagine Fashion in the European Social Innovation Competition 2020
Out of 766 initiatives that submitted their idea for this year’s theme “Reimagine fashion: Changing behaviours for the fashion industry”, the judging panel selected 30 pioneers for their innovative ideas and potential to transform the fashion industry.

The semi-finalists of this year’s competition on Reimagining Fashion that our judging panel++Meet the judgesOur judging panel is a diverse group of sustainable fashion and social innovation experts. Read more on the judging panel here. chose are from fourteen different countries, each taking an innovative approach to changing behaviours around sustainable fashion. The ideas cover a wide spectrum of solutions, from engineering sustainable fibers for yarn to stimulating socially inclusive processes throughout the fashion value chain. The European Social Innovation Competition is an initiative of DG Growth of the European Commission, and is organised by Kennisland++Kennisland in the CompetitionKennisland has been involved with the European Social Innovation Competition for eight years. The 2020 semi-finalists receive a comprehensive online package of support from experienced social innovators to further the development of their ideas. Kennisland is responsible for this overall support programme++Support programmeKennisland has extensive experience with tailor-made support programmes and challenge prizes. Examples of this are Amsterdammers, Make your City!, our programme for the Ratkaisu-100, and the delivery of the support programme during eight years of the European Social Innovation Competition. The support package includesKennisland is responsible for the support programme of the Competition, and focuses on providing the semi-finalists of 2020 with an extensive online learning experience. the Competition’s social innovation academy, a multi-day training event that connects semi-finalists to their Competition peers and a wider community of European social innovators through a series of dedicated presentations and workshops. This year the academy will take place online, offering the same programme in a collaborative and digital format. Semi-finalists will also be paired with a local coach for one-on-one mentoring and gain access to our social innovation playbook and an online pool of experts for tailored advice on specific aspects of launching a social venture.
The extensive coaching and collaboration prepares semi-finalists for the next stage of the competition, where they submit their Development Plans to the Judging Panel. The Judges will then have the responsibility to select 10 finalists and eventually three winners, each of whom will be awarded €50,000.
