Kennisland was founded with the objective of putting social innovation and the knowledge society on the map. Under the leadership of Nora van der Linden and Kimon Moerbeek KL will focus even more on what innovation delivers, and for whom.++Our new storyRead it here.

Where do old ideas, systems and types of organisation clash with new values, needs and opportunities?Where do old ideas, systems and types of organisation clash with new values, needs and opportunities? Our education system is excellent, but it is under pressure. Are we really teaching the right things? Our population is ageing and is becoming increasingly diverse, but can our care system keep up? Our cities are booming, but how do we tackle rising inequality? Which knowledge is needed to give leadership to innovation?

Please take a look at what we have achieved in the past year and what ambitions we want to fulfil in 2019. KL Portfolio 2018 will give you a good idea of how we explore and design social progress.

Are you ready to create a more socially just practice? Design researcher and facilitator Maya Goodwill created ‘A Social Designer’s Field Guide to Power Literacy’ in collaboration with Kennisland. The aim of the field guide is to help designers, researchers and facilitators develop power literacy. This includes building up your awareness of, sensitivity to and understanding of the impact of power and systemic oppression in participatory processes. The field guide will help you gain a holistic understanding of power, while examining the role you play in reproducing inequity – however unintentional – and what you can do to change this.
