We asked for ideas with the potential to create new models of growth through social innovation++SIRead more here on what we do in the field of social innovation. and that is what we got. Amongst all the inventive entries we received, a flavour of what is top of the agenda for many Europeans began to stand out. Europeans are innovating to ensure young people reach their potential and strengthen job prospects. Innovators are showing us they want to make sure we live in an inclusive society that cares for our ageing population. And certainly, the message is clear that creating economic growth with minimum waste and enhanced sustainability is vital.

Take a look at the full list of semi-finalists and find out more about each idea here. More information about each semi-finalist will be added to this page in the coming weeks. All semi-finalists are invited to the social innovation mentoring academy at Magdas Hotel in Vienna 7-9 September to progress their ideas with tailored support and workshop sessions.

Following the academy, 10 finalists will be selected, 3 of which will each be awarded a €50,000 prize at the awards ceremony in Brussels in November 2015.
