Lab2: Experimental Learning Spaces for Social Innovation

Following our explorative collaboration in the Wicked Series, Hivos and Kennisland will continue their knowledge exchange on social change dynamics.

2013

Following our explorative collaboration in the Wicked Series, Hivos and Kennisland will continue their knowledge exchange on social change dynamics.

Why?

This project builds on the joint interest to further explore and develop new approaches and opportunities for social innovation, by bringing together knowledge, networks, skills and experience in new experimental learning spaces. Hivos and Kennisland aspire to increase the social innovation capacity in both organizations and learn from their respective geographic and thematic scope for social innovation experimentation.

Who?

Kennisland is an independent think tank fostering innovation for a social and sustainable future. Hivos is a development organisation promoting civic innovation in the global South on issues ranging from open government to women’s rights. Both organisations create new learning environments for change makers to connect the dots and enhance the quality of their work.

What?

The first event we will organise is Lab2: A two-day pop-up Lab on Social Innovation Labs. Preceding Lab2, we will co-author and publish a discussion paper on wicked problems and systemic change, which is build on the output of the Wicked Series. Furthermore Hivos will partner with Kennisland and the University of Amsterdam to design and organise the Social Safari Summer school in July 2013.
